Well I finally got my fuel rail covers (from 'Afterthoughts Auto'), it took 6 weeks! (they advertise 1-2 weeks-don't believe it!). There is a problem however, my mechanic says that he has to re-configure  some engine components for these to fit and that could be a 3 hour job. Any comments to his remarks guys?

I agree the only thing you need to reposition is the throttle cable on the drivers side by the firewall I had to do some cutting of the covers only because i got the wrong year cover, if i would have bought the correct year it might would have taken me 30 minutes. I am sure they are getting you the correct ones then it shouldn't take that long to install you actually could do it yourself. Any way they look great once installed. Enjoy your purchase!

Dan, the driver side is NOT the problem. The problem is the PASSENGER side. There is an engine component on the side of the engine that is too high for the cover to fit over AND having to fit UNDER the hose at the firewall at the same time. The mechanic says he will have to lower that component to make the cover fit.

Is your engine stock? That passenger cover should fit right on, the drivers cover shown is the bigger PITA

You bet Dan!  Totally BONE stock.....I think the part protruding (upwards) is the top of a part of the exhaust manifold. Are you saying that the cover fits above that high point? If so then how does it fit properly under the hose at the firewall when it's up that high? This is my mechanic's dilema.

I installed mine myself and like i said I ordered the wrong year so i had to do a bit more modifying, but the only thing I had to move on the car was the throttle cable on the drivers side of the car no modification was needed on the passenger side and most of the modifying I had to do was the drivers side cover itself as i had to make another slot for the hose to go through but the car itself only thing i had to move was the drivers side where the throttle cable is

Well....they're FINALLY on!  As you guys said, they simply clip in (with minor adjustments) and the job took only 50 minutes. Now the engine LOOKS like an engine and not like mom's washing machine. Thanks again guys!

Sorry Michael, I don't know how to transfer my cell phone photos to the 'putor (and I don't have a connecting wire between the two).

Post when you can then.  I finally got back to the good ole US of A.  Took a peek at 30birdy, but haven't had time to start her up yet.  I need ideas for covers for what's left of car show season. Anybody else got some to show off?

Here is another "Fuel Rail Cover" topic with good information!
http://www.30th-ta.net/forum/index.php?topic=881.0
Go to the 2nd page of the topic and on the 5th reply by me you'll see a tiny narrow picture, if you click on it, it will expand showing you pictures of several FRC's.  Enjoy!   Grin
